easy cheesy no garlic bread

NEED: 
  • 1 loaf French bread (or Italian bread, about 12–16 inches)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan (or mix for flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil (optional)
  • Pinch of salt & pepper

DO: 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Slice the loaf in half lengthwise. Place both halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.

  • Spread softened butter evenly across both bread halves.

  • Sprinkle lightly with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.

  • Sprinkle mozzarella evenly, then add cheddar or Parmesan over the top.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.  **12-15 minutes if prepped day ahead and stored in the fridge

  • For a golden top, broil on high for 1–2 minutes (watch closely).

  • Slice into thick strips or wedges and serve warm
