i love baked potatoes-
my favorite way to eat them is when they get a long cook in the oven (long version) but in a pinch, when time is short, i will make them in the microwave (short version) and finish them in the oven :) (or not if time is super tight)
NEED:
- russet potatoes, washed and "stabbed" with a fork deeply or a sharp knife (prevents them from exploding)
long version:
- heat oven to 400-450
- place potatoes inside
- let cook at least 60 minutes (if the potatoes are small, this is probably enough... if they are bigger, may need a bit more time)
short version:
- heat oven to 400-450
- microwave the potatoes 8-10 minutes (check them, they need to be squishy- if not, add more time)
- put in the hot oven, let cook 10 minutes or so minutes to help the skin get a little crisped up
