i love to use my instapot for rice! it is easy, fairly quick and the rice turns out great. i almost always use jasmine or basmati so i know this technique works for those two types. i am sure it works with others- i just have not tested it.
NEED:
- jasmine rice 1 cup
- water or broth 1 cup
- a little bit of oil
- instapot
DO:
- rinse your rice with cool water until runs clear (makes it less gummy)
- turn instapot on to sautee and add a tiny bit of oil (or butter)
- add the rinsed rice, stir frequently until a bit browned/changed color (adds a bit of flavor)
- switch instapot to pressure high
- add liquid
- stir well
- seal. cook 10 minutes & then natural release 10 minutes
- fluff and enjoy
TIPS:
- can be doubled (2 cups rice, 2 cups liquid)
- if i want more flavor (like for stir fried rice), i use chicken broth
- if you want more protein, use bone broth
- if you want to add a bit more flavor, use a flavored oil
